Conscious Consumption for Marine Conservation

We instill sustainable habits to conserve the marine biodiversity of the Canary Islands. Workshops for Secondary Education and Vocational Training, and beach activities for the general public.

Why conscious consumption?

Every consumption decision has an impact on our seas. From choosing products without microplastics to supporting sustainable fisheries, our daily habits determine ocean health.

Objective

To promote responsible and sustainable consumption habits in the educational community and Canarian citizens, linking our daily choices with the conservation of the marine biodiversity of the Archipelago.

Target audience

  • Secondary Education and Vocational Training: practical workshops adapted to the curriculum
  • General public: outreach activities on the beach

Activities

  • Workshops in educational centers on responsible consumption, circular economy and their relationship with the marine environment
  • Beach activities: marine litter sampling, species identification and group dynamics
  • Awareness campaigns on the impact of plastics on marine wildlife
  • Citizen science projects where students and citizens generate real data

Methodology

We combine formal education with immersive experiences in the coastal environment. Workshops include participatory dynamics, real case analysis, and community action proposals.
